I really really hope enigma_shadow1  is okay... he isn't showing up on the chat at all tonight and it isn't like him to be late/missing without warning.... I really hope it's just computer problems or something...


also if you're reading this PLEASE get back to me right away somehow so I can stop panicking...

It is probably just computer problems. Did he mention anything about having trouble the last time you spoke with him?

Yeah, that's what everyone keeps telling me...

no, he didn't. Yesterday he sent me a few PMs on Bulbagarden around noon. So I know he was at least in a decent mood.

Well if he managed to send off a few PMs, then at least you know he's not hurt or anything. Maybe he had some new years task to do?

I am sure you will hear from him today, so just hang in there. I know how hard it is to be worried about someone that is far away, the best thing you can do is to not let yourself become too panicked. He wouldn't want you suffering like that.

I did a Google search of his ISP(Optimum).

Apparently, the Long Island area is experiencing outages...

Though that explains why I can't find any IPs with Optimum in them on the #SPP and #BMGF chats.

Dunno. The thing I read said "East Long Island", but I don't think he lives in that area...

either way it's logical. Apparently the ISP goes down a LOT.

Well with outages sometimes areas outside of the listed group can be affected, and since you said there were no people using Optimum online, it looks like almost everyone with that service is affected.

Maybe he will find a place that is using a different service and get online from there to get a message out to you.

That's the thing. I found a user on #pocketmonsters who WAS using Optimum and apparently they live in Long Island too....

Well sometimes there will be random spots in the outage zone that have a connection.

Only one person out of the hundreds that use Optimum and go to Pokemon sites, that pretty much proves that the outage is wide spread.

Have you looked at what the weather is like in the Long Island area? If there was a storm or something that would explain the outage.

Well if the winds are strong enough they could cause outages.

What time of the day does he normally get in contact with you? Since he wasn't on yesterday, it's a very good chance he will be on today to tell you why.

It doesn't take much to knockout internet, so an outage is not out of the question.

he gets on in the evening, usually around 8, sometimes a bit before.

So by 8-8:30 you should seem him again. You should try not to worry too much until then. You will probably find out that it was an outage or that he was indisposed and couldn't get online yesterday.
