On the one hand I'm questioning my credentials as a Giovanni fan.

On the other, this is probably for the best, because I'm quite positive his singing voice doesn't sound that terrible in any language.  



but gdi Live was still delicious crack I will always consider canon.

Oh, it is. In theory Giovanni getting a big musical number is awesome any way you cut it.

But the singing is horrible and I can't bring myself to actually accept it as Giovanni singing and wtf Darren Dunstan Y U DO THIS IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AWESOME.
