In memory of Maddie

Just a few minutes ago, a release on 4Kids' website has confirmed the rumors that have been floating around.
Maddie Blaustein, comic, photographer, and most importantly, incredible voice actress, has passed on.
Maddie died in her sleep last week at the age of 48, and while it is consoling to know her death was peaceful, what's important is not how she died, but how she lived.
Maddie was a sweet, caring person whose life should be an inspiration to us all. She was brave enough to accept herself for who she was, she respected her fans and treated them as friends, and she stood firm in the face of adversity. We should all honor her memory by following her example and remembering the awesome work she did not only on Pokemon, but also on her other shows, including Slayers, Yu Gi Oh, and others.
As a member of SOVA, I drew an art for her a few years ago when she was ill with a cold. Imagine my surprise when she thanked me for brightening her day with the art and mentioned it was hanging on the wall of her office. She truly earned a place in my heart with that and that will stand as my favorite memory for years to come. Maddie was truly a class act, and it's a shame she was taken from this earth so early.
Rest in peace, Maddie. We'll all miss you.
