That... that was kinda... heartwrenching.  And yet I'm totally going to catch up on this week's episode now.

It's like for the last two seasons the writers are constantly finding ways to warm my heart, then rip it out of my chest and crush it to tiny pieces.

Every episode.

I love you guys and the fact NBC somehow keeps asking you to come back and write another season right as they're about to cancel  but seriously guys? Why you do this?

Sounds like attempting to read manga Black Jack. The anime is cute and light and you can easily watch many in a sitting.

With the manga, you want to breeze through billions of chapters, because it's just THAT GOOD, but every once in a while, I have to stop because my heart's been crushed enough and I need to recover. xD;;

Yeah Chuck is a normally lighthearted spy show but then something bad happens to someone close to the main character as a consequence of his involvement with espionage.

It's pretty unique in that they deconstruct the whole glamorized spy life as something that's hard and takes a toll on people but VERY jarring because for the most part the episodes are super fun.

If it ever airs over there, you should try it. It really is worth watching.
