I'm not quite dead...
Jun. 5th, 2008 03:01 pmyeah. On Tuesday, I was supposed to get the Internets at my house, but the guy from Comcast apparently forgot the HD converter for the cable. So he had to wait a day while he got it. Then another guy came out yesterday and it turns out there's a tree branch where the cable's supposed to go. So now we've got Comcast coming out here TODAY to cut the branch down and (hopefully) install the cable. So for anyone who's been worried about me... apologies. However, the minute the Internet's up, you'll know about it. (If anyone can post when they'll be able to get on IM to talk with me in the comments, please do so!) I won't be able to do anything DS related till I get a router, however (which will be soon, because when my brother's around the house, it's impossible to pull him from his stratgery games)
In the meantime, I've been up to... a lot of craftiness. I guess when I'm bored/lonely my creative side comes out, so I've been doing a lot of decorating in my room and crafts. My room is quickly turning into a Gothic paradise (thanks, GLB scans!), and I got a brilliant idea to redo my boring, plain makeup bag back on Sunday with all the nasty cheap lace I accidentally bought at a garage sale last year. There was a ton of white, antique looking lace, and some bright red, so I stiched some on of each to make a laced-out medic's bag. I'll post pics, I promise, because it looks REALLY cool. I've also been spending some quality time with Kojiro (my DS, sadly, not James), and playing The World Ends With You. If you have a DS.. BUY THE GAME. It is, without a doubt, the best DS game I've played for a while without Pokemon in the title, and it's hilarious and has an awesome soundtrack.
There was also a Battle Road on Saturday. It was my first, so I went, and got owned. Not that my deck was bad- it's an excellent deck that uses a lot of Special Conditions, but it never failed that all the Energy in my deck ended up in the bottom of it and in the Prize cards. And I have, like, 23 Energy in this deck (grass and psychic) and the highest cost on any of my cards is 3 Energy (two colorless, no less) for my Mysterious Treasures Arbok's second attack, and I don't even USE that one much... usually I'm using Deadly Poison (Sixty damage for ONE ENERGY if they're Poisoned and Poison if they're not already? Yes please.) Gaaaah. It was just a Battle Road, though, and I got Linda to send me her Giovanni's Persian for my troubles (and some Basic Dark Energy) so it wasn't a total loss. Still, it's like the Banette in my deck are laughing through their zippered mouths at me. Besides, I went to Toys 'R Us afterward for Darkrai and found a fuzzy Wobbuffet plushie (bringing my Wobbu plushie total to THREE!) and got it for $3 (I had a $3 off Birthday Club coupon), so it was all good.
Oh, and I've got some new icons up. Go see them! (And nerd cookies to anyone who gets the joke on the Jessie rice ball one.)
