Big rant ahead.

rosejailmaidenOkay. In all honesty, I wasn't initially going to post this on my LJ. First it was going to be my Deathly Hallows review, then a rant about racism, but this seems more pressing an issue ever since I read the idiocy that is WPM's posts on the SOVA thread.
In a nutshell: what is that freak's problem? He goes and claims he has "connections" to PUSA reps, then quotes them without even giving a source, and swears it's the whole truth. Except every time he comes and makes some doom and gloom "give up" announcement about what he was "told", he ends up contradicting his story. First it was contracts. Then it was accuracy in translation and the merits of how much closer to the original it'd be (which ended up being a flaming lie.) Now?
"They like them." (the new cast being what he's referring to.)
Yeah. Real nice. Even if it is true, then, as kerplop so wisely pointed out, this isn't a sign we should just give it up. It means we should push harder to make them listen to us, the fans.
So the various SOVA members go pointing out his past errors, arguing our case, and then Lisa corrects an error he made regarding an email she got from Veronica. His response?
"Lisa, you are a liar."
That's it. Lisa stood up to him, presented the facts, and he made that cheap shot at her. Because she dared to stand up to him.
I'm not going to stand by while sleazy assholes like him go around wrongly accusing my friends of being liars. I've tolerated WPM's antics up until now, but this was the last straw. He can go around all he wants pushing his agenda, trying to get us to stop, but I'm not going to take THIS shit out of him. If he really practiced what he preached, he'd leave us alone anyway. No. I'm NOT going to give up, WPM. In fact, I'm going to fight even harder now, even if everyone else gives up and it ends up being a one-girl crusade. Because you sunk so low as to personally attack one of my best friends.
And I'm going to prove you wrong if it's the last thing I do.

Actually, probably the biggest Fandom Asshole period.
