I did some fics last night for a /tr/ writing thread, and I thought I'd share them here. One is a quickie drabble, the other is a longer Legend of Thunder horror/darkfic. Enjoy!

He thought he could defeat whatever came in his way.

Thought being the operative term, Ash realized, as he witnessed his final Pokemon slowly and painfully suffer defeat at the hands of the Rocket agent before him.

"Infernape... no..." he said, rushing to the fallen primate. He stroked Infernape's face and the Pokemon let out a sorrowful "aaaaaaaaaaaape" as the blonde girl mocked him.

"I thought I told you not to stand between Team Rocket and our goals. I warned you, but you ignored me and merely suffered as a result of your pitiful efforts," she laughed, brushing golden bangs away from her dark eyes. "Return, Roserade."

Ash didn't reply to the taunt, merely staring down at the cold ground beneath him. He didn't even struggle as a group of black-uniformed grunts lifted him from the ground and tied him up, dragging him away from his defeated companion. There was no use resisting now- Pikachu, Infernape, all his Pokemon, defeated.

"But enough talk from me. You'll learn the true cost of defying Team Rocket soon enough. Take him to a holding cell, and ship his Pokemon to the lab," she ordered.

"Yes, ma'am," one of the grunts replied.

Ash had learned many lessons in his life. Unfortunately, the one he'd never learned was when to get out while he could. And now it had cost him everything.

She woke up there. Not knowing how she got there.

Not even knowing where she was.

Her hands. She was finally getting feeling back in them. She moved them, under the assumption they were merely asleep.

Something stopped them from full range of movement. Something cold. Heavy.

The blue haired girl shivered from the sensation, clenching her eyes shut, hoping against hope this was a nightmare.

"It's no use, girl," a cold, smoothly accented voice crooned in the distance. "You're tethered down nice and tight there."

No. This wasn't happening to her. She had escaped the ship, with Misdreavus' help. She had defeated those two Rockets, freed Raikou, and saved the day.

This was a nightmare... she'd wake up from it soon...

Instinct overpowered will and Marina's eyes opened to a scene that was painfully, horrifyingly real. Chained to a steel table. The lab she was prisoner in, horrifyingly sterile. Sterile enough, in fact, to put even the most well-kempt Pokemon Center to shame.

And standing over her, in a lavender labcoat, a short, thin man with a pointed goatee and foppish hair. A single white streak in his black bangs shimmering under the harsh fluorescent bulbs.

"Ah yes. You may be wondering why you're here. You see, my agents accidentally brought along another little prize when they caught Raikou..."

He smiled at Marina, a smile that unnerved her while also oddly comforting her. She whimpered.

"What... what do you want from me..."

"Well, under most circumstances, you would have been tortured or killed by now, as is standard Team Rocket operating procedure with interlopers."

Sebastian waited a moment and savored the panic in Marina's face, the way she strained at her bonds.

"However, after running some tests, as luck would have it, you seem the perfect human subject to test our newest project on. Ideally this would be done upon a Pokemon, but I often find human subjects so much safer for use in the beta stages."

Marina whimpered even louder, forcing back tears. She was a Trainer... Trainers were supposed to be brave...

"Please... let me go... keep my Pokemon, let me go... I'm begging you..."

"Now now, young lady, where are your manners? It isn't proper for a guest to leave before even making herself comfortable." Sebastian gestured to an assistant, who approached the table and withdrew a small vial and a syringe from his jacket pocket. The assistant handed them to Sebastian.

"Just relax, my dear," Sebastian said, filling the syringe with the fluid in the vial. "One little pinprick and all your troubles will be.. safely out of mind."

Marina squirmed and struggled against the chains, and then in vain against the assistant holding her down, as Sebastian injected the drug into her veins. She gave out one final cry and then everything in the room began to fade...

Jimmy and Vinny were exhausted. "Don't worry, Jimmy," Vinny said, putting an arm around his friend's shoulder. "We'll find her."

"I should have stayed there and fought them... I let them take her, Vinny... it's all my fault. They took her, Vinny... it's my fault your girlfriend is gone..."

"Jimmy..." Vinny said. Truthfully, he wasn't sure of Marina's safety either. Team Rocket wasn't known for releasing their captives...

"Let's go back to the police station, Jimmy. Maybe Officer Jenny has picked up some leads."

"Jimmy, Vinny!"

A familiar girl's voice called out behind them.

"Marina!" Jimmy said, thrilled that his childhood friend was seemingly safe and alive.

"See, Jim, what did I-" Vincent cut off as he stared at Marina. This face.. it wasn't the one he was used to seeing. It was blank. Lifeless. Her eyes looking like little more than glass marbles in their sockets.

"Vincent." Marina's voice was dull and robotic. She stared at Vincent with those glassy eyes, reached into her bag...

"Marina... Marina, what's wrong?" Jimmy asked. What did they do-"

A bang. For a moment Jimmy wasn't quite sure what had happened. Then he realize something warm and wet was splattered on his face... blood.

Vincent's blood.

What was left of Vincent lie slumped over in a red puddle beside him, a good chunk of his chest blown open.

Marina's hand, shaking, gripped a pistol. A pistol aimed directly at Jimmy's head.

"Jimmy."

"Marina, please! No! What are you-"

Another sound of gunfire, and there was silence.

From Team Rocket's ship in the mountains, Sebastian smirked.

Pokemon and inventions came and went, but humans would always remain his favorite test subjects.

First off, can I steal your icon? XD I'm not sure where I'd even use it, but it's fantastic.

Second off, both of these are amazing. That first one feels like it needs a follow-up. I mean, if that's in the same continuum as the second one, I know it'd produce fantastic results. I mean, seriously? Ash repeating the kind of violence that Marina committed against Brock and Dawn? Mmm, angst. Speaking of which, is Marina aware of what she did, or is she basically brainwashed over to Team Rocket's side? Because if it's the first one, you're awesome.

First one isn't same continuity as second, although a fic where Team Rocket starts brainwashing trainers would be a great idea.

Second one is AU Legend of Thunder, working off the theory that the events of the movie were a dream while Marina was put out and in reality she's a captive of Team Rocket.

Yeah, Sebastian gave Marina a serum that pretty much brainwashed her into compliance with any orders given him. He's a sick fuck so of course he tells her to kill her friends.

Yeah, take the icon! I made it years ago, it's a quote from The Office.

Have to say, those are awesome works there. And you say you can't write. :) *hugs Dawn*

I love the first one because you showed the consequence of one of Ash's flaws. Just because he can defeat Jessie and James doesn't mean he can defeat the other Rockets. That and yeah, he needs to learn to get out while he still can. -_-

Second one it's interesting you have TR using guns, though a test subject is the one that is doing the shooting. I also like the theory you mentioned because to me Team Rocket has great potential with holding captives and violence. There's a criminal organizational, after all.

Again, great job there! :3 *hugs*
